''This portrait captures a moment of defiance, playfulness, and perhaps a hint of regret. The exaggerated red lips, slightly smudged, contrast with the piercing gaze—bold, unapologetic, and knowingly mischievous. The vibrant, unnatural colors on the skin echo the tension between control and impulsiveness, between presenting a composed exterior and letting raw emotions slip through.
This piece is part of my ongoing exploration of identity, emotion, and self-perception. I often play with expressions that oscillate between vulnerability and assertion, inviting the viewer to question what is truly being felt beneath the surface. The use of unnatural hues—pink, violet, blue—serves to highlight how emotions distort perception, turning fleeting moments into vivid imprints on our memory.
In this work, I wanted to capture that split second where confidence and recklessness meet—the boldness of red lipstick, the hint of rebellion, and the stories that remain untold behind a single expression. ''
